Foyer Ledge Dilemma
Do you have one of those hard to reach, hard to decorate ledges in your foyer? You know, that ledge over the front door that you never know what to do with. Do you struggle with how to decorate it for the holidays? If your foyer ledge is like mine you need a really tall ladder to get to it, so it doesn’t get lots of decorating attention.
A couple of years ago I decided to try something different.
Foyer Ledge Solution
In an effort to do something creative with my entryway ledge, I decided to fill it up and light it up for Christmas. I came up with the
crazy idea to put my children’s red pedal tractor (long out grown) on the foyer ledge and create a Christmas Tree Farm vignette.
Foyer Ledge Inspiration
I placed several small Christmas trees and lots of wrapped packages across the foyer ledge and around the little red tractor.
A red truck Christmas sign added interest to the corner.
I strung two strands of lights around the trees and across the tractor. A little Christmas wreath adorns the front of the tractor. There’s also a buffalo check blanket draped across the tractor seat to add a hint coziness.
The window continues to display a pre-lit wreath that can be seen from outside. It has a plaid bow that is seen from the inside and helps hide some of the plugs from the lights.
Not only did this design provide something aesthetically pleasing for my foyer ledge, it got the little red tractor out of my garage! Now, if only it was okay to leave Christmas decorations up all year round, I’d be good!
I hope you’ve been inspired to do something fun and creative with the foyer ledge in your house! A child’s little red tricycle would also be really cute (I use one on my screened porch). Check out that post here.
As always, thanks for reading!
Merry Christmas, Y’all!
