The Best Christmas Pillows Ever!

The Best Christmas Pillows Ever! (and where to find them)

I will not decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving!

I will not decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving!

But for some reason this year, I really, really want to! So in order to make myself happy, yet stick to my own rule, I’ve decided to do a thorough inventory of ALL of my Christmas decorations. This could take a while! Since my Christmas pillows aren’t stored in my usual bins, packed away in the dark corners of our basement storage room, I’ll start with them. They are easily accessible in the storage benches in my kitchen and (truth be told) behind the sectional sofa in the basement game room. (Don’t worry – they can’t be seen, the sofa is up against the wall, so they are tucked away nicely. So, let’s take a look at the best Christmas pillows ever – at least in my opinion;)

This girl loves Christmas!

I seriously love all things Christmas when it comes to decorating! I love the traditional red and green colors and anything plaid – don’t even get me started on plaids! As of last year, I have a new found love (read “obsession”) for red trucks and tractors. You will see lots of red truck items in my Christmas decorations this year, and yes, including the pillows. Check out my post “My Southern Inspired Christmas Kitchen” with other ways I use red trucks in my Christmas decorating.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to add Christmas cheer to your home, it to add some (okay, lots) of Christmas pillows! I must admit that I have a problem when it comes to throw pillows – I simply can’t pass them up! They make me so happy! Pillows in general can add so much to a room, can easily be moved around, and are typically budget friendly. I move my Christmas pillows from room to room each year for a whole new look. It’s a great way to make them feel new all over again.

When I get my Christmas decorations out each year it’s like…well, it’s like Christmas! I get so excited to unpack some of my favorite decorations and then rediscover some things that I had forgotten about. Oh what fun it is!

Christmas Pillow Inventory

The fun began when I lined up all of my Christmas pillows on the storage bench under the windows in our kitchen. Twenty feet of Christmas pillows! This made it so much easier to see what I already had and to decide what I still need want. There are so many wonderful pillows out there that it is hard to resist!

This red truck pillow is one of my new additions this year. I just love the little black dog beside the truck. I ordered it online from Kirkland’s.

Yes, I bought another red truck pillow this year! It was such a great price at The Christmas Tree Shops (online) that I couldn’t pass it up.

This was my first “red truck” Christmas pillow, the “Woody” pillow cover from Pottery Barn. I have had it for a about 3 years (they still sell it) and it was a splurge for me. I kept drooling over it in the catalog for a couple of Christmases and finally decided to treat myself! It was a little pricey, but so worth it! No regrets!

This red truck pillow came from TJMaxx online last year. Great selection and prices!

Have I mentioned that I love plaid? Red plaids especially! I can’t think of a more perfect addition to your Christmas decor than red plaid! These two red plaid fur trimmed pillows also came from TJMaxx last year. Absolutely love them! The red plaid snowflake pillow came from HomeGoods a few years ago.

For me, this pillow says it all! Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year. You guessed it – it also came from TJMaxx last year.

Oh, deer! Aren’t these pillows cute?

This three deer pillow is my attempt at being crafty (and my ability to make use of what I already have.) I actually reversed my “Hey Y’all” pillow and hot glued the three deer appliques to a black chevron burlap ribbon. I then just used double sided tape to connect the ribbon on the back of the pillow…and viola! a new Christmas pillow! The deer appliques (from Hobby Lobby) are hard, so I use this pillow where it’s just looked at for a decoration and not actually used for a long winter nap.

This buffalo plaid (or buffalo check, if you prefer) deer pillow came from The Christmas Tree Shop (online) this year. I love the faux fur accents.

These two little cuties are from Target last year and were only $5 each. What a bargain!

How could I resist a Christmas pillow that has my daughter’s name on it? Traditional red and green holly leaves and berries – one of my favorite Christmas decor greeneries (I thinks I just made that word up.) And yes, it came from TJMaxx!

Christmas Pillow Recap

So, as you can see I shop at many places for my Christmas pillows and typically add one (okay, several) each year. Some of my favorite stores to buy them from are TJMaxx, HomeGoods, Marshall’s, Kirkland’s, The Christmas Tree Shop, Pottery Barn (on sale only;), Hobby Lobby, and Target. I try to stick to a budget not spend too much, but I do buy what makes me happy.

You may have noticed a few “filler” pillows in the far corners of the bench that did not get a specific mention. Those are just pillows that I simply cover with some leftover Christmas fabric or buy red or green pillow covers for – nothing too exciting but they definitely add Christmas color. Not every pillow needs to be a new purchase or fancy or expensive. Be creative…and frugal when necessary.

Well, that does it for now…until I go shopping again, anyway! As always, thanks for reading! I hope you have been inspired to add some Christmas pillows to your decor this year or if you’re like me move around what you already have to make them seem new!
