Southern Inspiration – A New Adventure

Road, Sun, Rays, Path, Forest, Nature

Today I start a new adventure! I’m putting myself out there, conquering my fears, and trying something new. Today I’m officially launching my blog! It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while. Even though I’m a bit of an introvert, I enjoy sharing my experiences and thoughts with others in hopes that it may help those who may be on the same or similar journey. We can all learn from each other. Whether it’s how to freshen up outdoor spaces, where to buy the cutest decorative pillows, how to redecorate a room on a budget, how to raise kids with character, or how to deal with life’s ups and downs, we can all use a little a little encouragement…a little inspiration. A little Southern inspiration. That’s just what I hope to provide on my blog!

Being born and raised in Virginia, has provided many Southern influences. From farm living to traditional decorating to preppy styles to the way we love Jesus and sweet tea … there’s just something special about the slower pace of life in the South. If you’re from here, you know what I mean, if not, join me and let me share some of that Southern hospitality with you! On my blog you will see what I have been inspired by and how I hope to inspire others. There will be lots of talk about home decor, outdoor spaces, room makeovers, products I love, where I shop to find the best prices, advice on raising teens, and how to handle whatever life throws at you. Basically, how I strive to be the best Southern Mama I can be!

Taking Off

As with attempting anything new, the first step is the hardest. So I decided to just give it a shot. This made me think of a quote that I see a lot on Pinterest,

“There is freedom waiting for you,

On the breezes of the sky,

And you ask, “What if I fall?”

Oh, my darling, What if you fly?”

                           –Erin Hanson

I think the take away here is that you never know what might happen or where something will lead, if you don’t try.

Endless Possibilities

So, on with this new adventure I go. It may just be a hobby, or it may transform into something more…but there’s only one way to find out.

“And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great.”

                                                                                   Job 8:7

I hope you will join me on this adventure and check back often to see what’s new.

What’s something you have been wanting to try, but have been too afraid? Why don’t you just go for it? After all, if not now, then when?

  1. Congratulations on taking the leap Mary Beth! My wife, Laura, started her blog a couple of years ago with help from Tonya Riley. It’s been a wonderful experience. If you desire any tips or insight I’m certain she’d gladly be a resource. Best of luck and enjoy the experience!

    1. Thanks, Doug! I will certainly keep that in mind – there’s so much to learn! What’s the name of your wife’s blog? I’d love to check it out!

  3. Congrats on taking a leap of faith. I know it’s scary, I’m about to do the same thing and your quote about what if I fail spoke to me. Best of luck and remember the little people when you make it big!
